Amazon pumps up the U.S. Post Office.
Coming soon — Amazon will deliver where no mailman has gone before. If you live in New York City or Los Angeles, AND you’re a member of “Amazon Prime” (which costs $79 per year), Amazon just announced they’ll be teaming with the US Post Office to make Sunday deliveries. Let’s hope this gives a much-needed boost to the Post Office. It may work just for “Amazon Prime”-mates right now, but Amazon certainly has a proven infrastructure … I’m going to order something this week, just to see if it works. There are already questions about how ethical it is for a private corporation such as Amazon to pair with a beleaguered government agency — but I’m thinking ahead. Anything that bolsters the sagging US Post Office in my (Amazon-purchased) book is okay. Anybody have any thoughts?
