Bartender Sandy.

I’m going through my files, trying to do some Spring Cleaning.  I found a file marked, “RISD ACCEPTED STUDENTS’ PARTY”.

It was made in 2010.

I did four or five of them for Rhode Island School of Design — a welcome for Southern California students who got accepted to the school.

Sandy Tompkins, our bartender, wrote me a beautiful postcard after the one in 2010 — which I’d kept.

It’s funny, but memories of the party started coming back to me as I looked at his beautiful card… and I’m glad I had the presence of mind to tuck it in the file.
