Beanie Baby love.

Martin Massman is the ultimate doll.  When he gives a dinner party, he’ll tent the pool outside his Penthouse in Century City, bring in scantily-clad Cirque du Soleil trapeze artists, and let us ogle them as we sit at our glamorous glass-topped dining tables he’s decorated with ice sculptures.  Martin leads a dinner party by starting off with a question designed to provoke intimacy & deeper conversation.  For Valentine’s Day, he’s started his own tradition.  For the past several years, I’ve been lucky enough to be on his list … with a “hug” from a Beanie Baby in this case, who stares back at me with baleful purple eyes, reflective pools of pure love… just like Martin’s.
