S–t to do.

I’m a “To do” list maker. They never get shorter. Sometimes it feels like I don’t get very many items checked off. When Linda Schreyer gave me this “SHIT TO DO” notepad for my birthday, I cracked up. It’s the perfect item — I’m going to go online to see if I can find more!…

Tenement Museum box.

Darlene got me a birthday present months ago, when she was visiting The Tenement Museum in New York. She said she spied it in a dark corner of the gift shop and swept in to buy it. It’s made of keyboard keys — we think from a computer, perhaps, like a Nexus/Lexis kind of thing…

Cookies of the past.

After I took Vivian to a (perhaps inappropriate) movie — the documentary about “Yves St. Laurent” — we retreated to her house to have tea  and cookies… and cleanse ourselves. * Tea at Vivian’s is always a delight.  She has a collection of interesting tea choices, and always presents some kind of fun cookie or dessert…

A bag full of beauty.

♥  We have a tradition on birthdays, Gloria Gordon, Gloria Shepard, Donna Guillaume and I. Cheesecake Factory at The Grove for lunch. Forever 21 afterwards (Donna usually has something else to do!) This year for my birthday we had a decadent lunch, courtesy of Gloria Gordon… and I was showered with presents too.  Sometimes it…

Remodels and tomato storage.

We decided to have lunch today, last-minute, after both of us had morning appointments. I didn’t have a reservation anywhere, but I figured, “Hey, it’s Beverly Hills, how hard can it be?” Wrong. Beverly Drive was crawling.  My first choice, The Beverly Grill was packed, the valet told us. We went to Barney’s, where I…
