Chateau Marmont.
One day over lunch, Adam admitted he had a secret stash.
Not of illicit drugs. Of stationery with his name on it — “In Residence: Adam Silverman”
from the famed Chateau Marmont.
He loved it so much, he said, that he had about 4 pages of it and didn’t wan to use any of it —
except for special occasions. A secret stationery hoarder. I immediately understood how
special it was… and had an inspired idea.

When I got home, I made a call.
The GM arranged for a small printing of more “In Residence” for my friend.
We sent it the same week his book got published.

After a dinner last week featuring Adam at the Laguna Museum of Art, I was surprised
by a cream-colored “Chateau” envelope in the mail. Upon opening it, I knew
right away Vin & I must really count: Adam chose to use one of his precious
new stash on a letter to us.
I can think of no higher compliment.
