Councilmember Tom LaBonge gives Proclamation to a 90-year-old.

A few days before my friend Gloria Gordon turned 90, we took her to an event  at the Hollywood Museum.  When Councilmember Tom LaBonge heard me tell him — he jumped on it immediately.  He flipped me his card and whispered, “Call my office.  We’ll get her a Proclamation”.  He did just that, and did one even better.  When Jeffrey L. Wald, Gloria’s nephew took her to his Hollywood location, he popped her into his own car and drove her over to Hollywood High — where she had graduated back in 1942.  He introduced her to the Principal and they looked through her yearbook.  Here they are, everyone very happy — and I finally wrote Councilmember LaBonge tonight to thank him for doing such a great good deed.  He leaves office soon and I want him to know how happy he’s made at least one person who was born & raised in Hollywood.
