I went to undergraduate school at UC Santa Cruz for my first two years.

Now that I’ve started to work for Dean David Yager of the Arts Division at UC Santa Cruz — I’m getting the distinct

pleasure of re-connecting with friends from long ago… all smart, witty, thoughtful people who I admired then

and still hold in high regard.

Today ERIC ROY ANDERSON, the talented Director of Photography who helped me get my first job at CBS —

came over to see a transfer we had made from a film he produced back then,

I’m there, running along the beach, long dark hair flowing in the cold morning breeze … when I discover

a wallet, some ID, and then — to my horror, cast in facial images and no sound — a body.  Wrapped in

seaweed, he’s barely recognizable.  My male companion comforts me and we go off together.

After Eric left, I noticed he hadn’t taken the drive — so I wrote him a quick note to add into the envelope.

It’s great to re-connect with friends who shared experiences from way back when… sometimes,

they can even ‘fill in the dots’ on memories diminished by time…and I’m thankful for that.images
