Feel better … when mail is better than flowers.
Last summer I had laryngitis. For a month. No phone. No computer notes from my two friends, Gloria G. (age 87) and Gloria S. (age 80) — they don’t do computers.
So we hand-wrote notes back and forth. If a friend is sick, I still like to send something … it doesn’t die in a few days, like flowers. (Although flowers are always
appreciated and I’ll never turn down a bouquet if it comes my way!) When a meeting was cancelled back in Providence with a Rhode Island colleague, I sent her a note
to let her know she wasn’t suffering alone. Have you ever gotten something that made YOU jump out of bed?
