Gracious loser…with a typo.
I didn’t get the job — but I wanted to thank the head of Human Resources who stayed in touch with me throughout the process.
She sent me an e-mail, which I responded to — but then I also added a personal “snail mail” touch.
A real letter is more “me”. Although I got passed up, I’m a gracious loser. It probably wasn’t the right job anyway.
Besides, it all works out the way it’s supposed to … doesn’t it?
(As further proof that ‘it wasn’t meant to be’ — after I posted this, I noticed a typo. (I spelled “Development” wrong). Oops! I’ve been sick this week but that’s no excuse. I checked it quickly, but should have spent longer on looking it over. I pondered sending her a note with a “sorry for the mistake” but that’s probably overkill. This is where my perfectionism gets in my way. What do you think?)
