Keith Raffel’s newest book…a surprise Hanukkah gift.
I met Karen Mauskop when we were both members of the Parents’ Council at Rhode Island School of Design. Karen is a master networker, lives in New York, and knows EVERYBODY. After a few conversations, or “Jewish geography” as she calls it, we figured out I knew Wes Raffel from my Palo Alto High School days … and she knew Keith, his older brother. Keith’s a retired high tech guru who started publishing mystery novels.
Yesterday I got a surprise package from Amazon. From Karen and Alex. My first official Hanukkah gift — Keith Raffel’s latest book, “A Fine and Dangerous Season”. Karen doesn’t miss a thing.

Dear Erica!
I’m so happy that Alex and I surprised you with an unexpected Hanukkah gift. Keith’s book is a great read! Congratulations on your new site and blog. You have perfected the “Art of the Thank You Note”. I’m so happy for you that you have found the perfect spot for your voice. You inspire others to give of themselves and to write one another!
