I‘m finally clearing through stacks of papers I’d cleverly hidden in pea green Container Store boxes.

During Christmas,  I couldn’t keep up with the influx of papers/gifts/magazines & catalogues,

so I coped by sticking them out of sight.

The only problem?   “Out of sight, out of mind.”

My Mom preferred doing anything over housekeeping.

So as the eldest of four — and the only kid with a touch of OCD —  I kept order as best I could.

I was a nervous whirling Dervish, desperate to clear clutter — because  it was always messy and I

didn’t feel in control.  I still  don’t do well with chaos.

One bad thing about hiding paper in boxes:  it looks tidy but I have no idea of what’s inside.

Some people are hiders.  Others are pilers.  I’m a hybrid,  and neither technique really works.

Tonight I unearthed this beautiful card from Louise A. Marler, my friend the typewriter artist.

You can’t tell, but it’s on earthy, grainy, wonderful paper — so nice that I stroked it admiringly when I first got it.

And of course I love the keys.
