Lemon Jello cake.
I’m reading “THROW OUT FIFTY THINGS: CLEAR THE CLUTTER, FIND YOUR LIFE” by Gail Blanke.
(For all of you OCD hoarders — or just if you feel overwhelmed by “stuff”, it’s a great read. It talks about being in the present with your stuff — and getting rid of anything that doesn’t reflect who you are now, or isn’t consistent with what your brand going forward should be. It’s inspiring me to look at everything in the house with a jaded eye.)

On page 33, I came across something that struck me:
“A woman named LIz wrote me about finding an old chocolate cake recipe from her mother — written on a 3×3 card decades earlier — when she cleaned out her pantry. She’d forgotten all about it. She sat there on the kitchen floor thinking about all the cakes her mom had made and all the occasions those cakes had celebrated. Her mom’s gone now, and Liz was wishing like crazy that she’d told her how terrific those cakes were. I suggested she bake her mom’s chocolate cake for her family and decorate it with the words “THANKS MOM”. She did, and she, her husband and their kids drank a toast to Liz’s mom’s cakes that night at dinner. Nice, huh?”
