Lewis Carroll & “Jabberwocky”.
HEIDI — another typewriter lover — noticed that author CHARLIE LOVETT bought Lewis Carroll’s typewriter… and had a party where he gave people a card with a line from “JABBERWOCKY” typed on that typewriter. I happen to love “Alice in Wonderland”. I was the Caterpillar in the Palo Alto Childrens’ Theatre when I was in the 4th grade. If I’d been invited to author Charlie Lovett’s party and given something typed on Lewis Carroll’s own machine — I would have been overcome.
I used a Lewis Carroll quote in my high school yearbook. I’d tell it to you if I could remember it. (Unfortunately, I’m not organized enough to be able to pull out my yearbook on demand.)
The idea of using a typewriter as a party element got my mind racing. I started thinking, “How could I bring my typewriters into the fray?” I need to come up with a way to feature them in a festivity.
