“…it made me think of you.”
Daniele Neuharth and I just met a few months ago, after I went to visit Art Center College of Design with a mutual friend of ours.
Daniele told me she loves the art of the written word, and from that moment on, we recognized in each other a common appreciation of correspondence.
She was kind enough to send me the article called “The Found Art of Thank-You Notes” that appeared recently in the New York Times.
She wrote, “… I’m late in sending this article, but it made me think of you. You could have added a thing or two to the discussion, I’m sure.”
Of course now I’m going to write back, to keep the mailman busy.
If only I could find an appropriate clipping to send HER, it would complete the cycle!
It’s nice to be thought of…and a clipping with a note feels good to receive.
(I send them all the time, so when someone unexpectedly returns the favor, it always delights me because I know it means ‘she’s thinking of me.’
And isn’t that a nice feeling to know we’re not alone?)
