“First rule of Development: Never be late!”

When we made our appointment to have coffee on a Friday afternoon, neither Daniele nor I realized

it was Memorial Day weekend and the traffic would be terrible.

My lunch plan changed, so I got to “TWIST” on La Brea a little bit early.

Daniele texted me she was still on the road, and would be a few minutes late.

When she walked in, she told me, “The first rule of Development:  never be late!”

We laughed and ordered her mint tea.

Daniele and I share the love of helping artistic students and building those

institutions.  She listened to my concerns about my new career, and never

judged… no matter how innocent my questions.

I wanted to thank her for rushing across God knows how many freeways

at the worst time of day to keep her commitment.  She is a class act…truly.
