Phone company comes through.

AT&T info TY-AT&T-1 imgresTY-AT&T3Our phone system didn’t work.  We called AT&T, and to my delight — and surprise — got a technician who knew what he was doing.  Aaron told me, as I typed away, “I’m going to have to pull the server, is that OK?”

I allowed as to how that’s no problem — “I can type if the computer goes down,” I bragged.

I turned back to my putty-colored OLYMPIA electronic compact 2.

Aaron retreated into my airless cubbyhole, the place where I store all my office supplies.  We both worked.  After a few minutes popped his head into my office.

“I think I’ve solved the problem,” he said.  He explained what he’d found.  He stopped, midway through the paperwork.

“Er, can I ask what you do?” he stuttered.

I explained the fundraising/thank you/former TV production piece.

“What are those typewriters for?” he wondered.  I talked about my blog and my belief in thank you’s.

“Tell you what,” I said.  “If you solve the problem, I’ll write YOU one.”

He gave me his card and I sent a note to him — and his boss.

Someone who does a good job deserves to be applauded.
