Pork Roast reach-out.

I remember visiting my grandparents Nano and Granddaddy Al when I was in first grade.  I got pneumonia — so wasn’t able to go the the Seattle World’s Fair with them.

But my most distinct memory is at twelve noon sharp, my grandfather would scurry to the mailbox.  He wrote me regularly and that’s probably what started my love of letter-writing.

I continue the tradition, even with a clipping.  My father Gary’s a sublime chef, so I send him food-related items when I see them.  Granddaddy Al taught me — it’s nice to go to the mailbox and have a frisson of pleasure when a letter jumps into your hand.
