How? When? Why?

A favorite restaurant of ours — Kate Mantilini — is closing its doors.

It was in the trades.

In the paper.

On the local news.

But I had no idea.

When I heard from my new friend Mike — I immediately wrote Alan Lewis,

the owner, a teary-eyed note.

There will never be another neighborhood spot like Kate’s.

I for one am in mourning.
