Slip & Slide fame.

Christopher Baker, now a Beverly Hills attorney, had a brainstorm back when we were in college.  He created an ‘installation’, Christo-style, of a “Slip & Slide” — first outside the dorm of College Five, then inside the hallway of the dorm.

It was an instant hit.

It’s also one of my favorite memories of my time there.

When I met Chris, I didn’t know he was the clever guy who created the 24-hour sensation.

I said, “Remember that Slip & Slide in the dorm?  That was my favorite memory!”

He told me he’d come up with the concept.

I’ve never been so impressed to meet an inventor.

We talked about how cool it would be to re-install one of those — and UC Santa Cruz is coming up on its 50th anniversary.

When I read in today’s paper that a water slide was voted down — because of the drought — naturally, I had to send it to Chris.
