Street art & the man who showed us its value.

In today’s Los Angeles Times — this story about the arrest of artist (and RISD alum) SHEPARD FAIREY — caught my eye.

In it, they referenced the “Street Art” exhibit that Museum of Contemporary Art did in 2011 — as created by the brilliant

Jeffrey Deitch — and how, as a result of that exhibit, L.A. police now recognize that graffiti is not always vandalism — it can be art.
