Tenement Museum box.
Darlene got me a birthday present months ago, when she was visiting The Tenement Museum in New York.
She said she spied it in a dark corner of the gift shop and swept in to buy it.
It’s made of keyboard keys — we think from a computer, perhaps, like a Nexus/Lexis kind of thing — but that
doesn’t really matter, because when I opened it, I screamed. It felt like it was keyboard keys — and that’s
what’s important.
I carried it home carefully, and stacked the top on the bottom of it, and it fits that way too.
Inside I have my most-used typewriter cards, within arm’s length of my Olympia Compact II — also given to me by Darlene.
I used one of her ‘library cards’ she’d given me at another time to complete the “Darlene Trifecta”.
