There was a nice feeling in the air when we arrived in Providence this afternoon.

Winter’s woes are over.

Spring has sprung.

Flowering trees, locals fearlessly daring to stroll without coats.

The Front Desk folks welcomed me back.

I wasn’t here in February — the Rhode Island School of Design Board meeting was in New York that time.

It felt good to walk in the lobby and be greeted like they remembered me.

Even if it’s just that Kristin is clever and knows how to read my travel log, it still made my welcome a little bit warmer.  And  I appreciated her thoughtfulness.

Those small gestures of being “seen” are what make a difference — and why I “keep coming back“, as they say in Alcoholics Anonymous.
