Oprah went back into her old magazine annals and pulled some of her favorite interiews.  One was with her mentor, the late Dr. Maya Angelou.

The quote that I liked from Dr. Angelou sheds new light on how a ‘thank you’ can be transformative.  She advises, “Thank you even for the phone call that told me I’m not wanted anymore.  Thank you, because I know you have something better for me lined up.”

What’s that line from Alcoholic Anonymous?  “God doesn’t say NO, he says NOT NOW.”

Or my other favorite, “Rejection is God’s form of protection.”

I only wish we still had Dr. Maya Angelou here to remind us of how to reduce our anxiety and increase our appreciation.
