When there’s a crisis — “call Adriana”.
There are certain people I can count on even when the s— hits the fan.
Adriana is one of those.
As an accountant who works in our business manager’s office, she’s got the nerves of a soldier.
She doesn’t get rattled in the face of fire.
Not when my father inadvertently leaves the water faucet on all night and
wakes up to learn the apartment below is floating.
Not when my daughter stops short because of “Israeli tourists on Pico”
and bashes her new (my old) BMW into their unsuspecting rented metal behind.
Not when the refrigerator stops purring or the dryer stops whirring.
Adriana doesn’t panic easily.
For her calmheadedness, and more importantly, her ability to LAUGH with me, not at me…
I sent her a birthday card… with a little cash tucked inside.
It’s the least I can do to thank my comrade-in-arms.
