African violets, homegrown.

Gloria Shepard is a talented gardener.  She has a rose garden that is the pride of the neighborhood, and she is happy to share her talents with those of us who were not born with a green thumb.

For my birthday, she presented me with a carefully-tended African violet that she had transplanted & grown from … what?  I’m not even sure!  She included info on what water to buy (“Electrolyte enhanced”) and how to tend them with the same care she does…

as I wrote, I hope I’m up to the task.  If I get scared, though, I know Gloria will have my back.
