Going wild at the Academy Awards.
Loved the show.
Loved, loved, loved the wall of 30 or more typewriters when they gave the writing award.
Penelope Cruz + Robert DeNiro.
Standing in front of a backdrop of classic restored machines, all with paper rolled in their carriages.
“Get me a screen shot!” I screamed, delirious with pleasure, pacing in front of the screen.
Vin and Jamie laughed. Neither of them moved a muscle.
Impossible, Vin said. Academy doesn’t approve re-use of their images.
I watched “12 Years a Slave” win for “Adapted” and Spike Jonze take home “Original” for “HER”.
Just know, if you saw it, it was ground-breaking. When have you ever seen a wall of typewriters like that before?
Very, very cool. Beautiful. Metal on metal.
I’m still excited.

P.S. Thank you, Carol Polisner, for finding me the image! You’re a Godsend. It’s beautiful.

The day after: I’m cruising the internet looking for a picture to share. One thing I’ve found — reviewers gave the wall a special shout-out.

I thought of you when I saw those typewriters!
