At the ‘Send-Off party” for incoming RISD Freshman yesterday, I was happily surprised

when Doug O. came breezing in — he’s an alum whom I just met a few months ago,

and he adds immeasurable gravitas to the proceedings whenever he appears.

I wrote him a quick note this morning thanking him for getting out to Malibu …

and invited him to go see the David Hockney exhibit at the elegant

Louver Gallery in Venice, if he ever has time.
