Inner sanctum.

At the end of our party last week, I got into an animated conversation with Brian and Victoria.

Brian, who’s a major executive now, shared how he got his first job as an administrative assistant because he knew how to type.

(He also knew shorthand AND accounting, which helped.)

I invited them into my inner lair, and put Brian in front of my typewriter.

He was rusty at first, but soon he ‘found his speed’ and I urged him to type down his address so I could

send him a ‘snail mail’ letter.

I also promised to show their granddaughter my machines.  She asked for one for a recent

teenage birthday, and I always encourage anyone who wants to enter the analog world to

go there with me…
