Kate, editor of Palo Alto High School’s “Campanile”.

Kate was one of the Editors of the Paly High newspaper, “The Campanile”.  I was too — (hand over mouth) — 40 years ago.  I was the first woman editor the paper had elected in twelve years, as I recall.  How times have morphed.  Now the paper is digital and online.  No more cutting & pasting, no more hand-setting the type.  After Kate interviewed me for a “What was it like back then?” story, she sent me a much coveted sweatshirt with the paper’s logo on it.  I was thrilled to have a piece of the place that’s been so important to me.
