A nice note of appreciation makes it all worthwhile.

Julia Newman runs the Parents’ Council at Rhode Island School of Design.  She came out here to oversee a party at the home of a parent in Malibu — after we’d exchanged a few e-mails and calls about agenda, guests, and general ideas on how to handle the party.  (I’ve given 4 or them before, so I shared my successes & failures).

I got a pleasant note from Julia in today’s mail, which I appreciate.  It makes all I did to help — including bringing RISD coffee mugs and books, making the long drive out to Malibu in rush-hour traffic, and having my biggest smile on to welcome new parents … seem worthwhile.
