Shoes with balls.

I send clippings of unusual shoes to my daughter Jamie’s former roommate Alison.  This Nicholas Kirkwood heel — with a silver ball attached to the underbelly — attracted my attention.  Alison was a sculpture major at Rhode Island School of Design, so I know she’ll get a kick out of this… literally.  And a letter in the mail is my way of staying connected, even though we’re on opposite coasts.  She’s in her business world now — appropriately, working for shoe designer Donald J. Pliner in New York.  (I got to visit her late one night on 5th Avenue.  I met her boss and gave my probably unwanted critiques of all their narrow shoes.  DJP is the one brand that’s made for narrow feet — so I am doubly motivated to keep Alison up to speed on fascinating styles I like!)
