Tom Hanks craves typewriter sounds, creates app.

My friend CHUCK FRIES noticed an article in yesterday’s USA TODAY… that typewriter-lover TOM HANKS, who admits to being

“obsessed” with the machines, created an app for the Iphone that re-creates the sounds of the clackety-clack-clack of the keys.

I tried to order it just now but need to get a software update first.

If you get it — let me know … Tom gets his typewriters repaired by Ermanno Marzorati at Star Office Machines. I’ll often

see a vintage beauty on the shelf… and to my chagrin, it’s often destined for Tom’s collection.

One day maybe I’ll be there when Tom stops by.

A girl can hope, can’t she?

(He probably has an assistant do all the runs, who am I kidding?)
