What I did after my summer vacation.

Some people rush home from a summer vacation and hug their dog.

Some people can’t wait to catch up on their favorite TV shows.

Or get an old-fashioned American-style hamburger.

Not me.

I’m the person who rushes home to sit at her typewriter, and get caught up on all the letters I haven’t been able to write while I was gone.

I left a pile of unopened birthday gifts, so those needed responses.

I needed to write a condolence card for a friend’s wife we just lost.

And I have a few books to send, cans of olive oil to ship, and clippings to distribute.

I just laid it all out to show you — and counted:  24 letters and 4 packages so far.

Not bad considering I got home at 7 last night and it’s only 3 o’clock today!
